My Grandparents were married in this beautiful church on
the 1 August 1931. I actually visited the church when I move to
London and worked in Debenhams Eltham. Is there any where on this
site that I could check for births, deaths and Marriage records.
I would like to found out more history of my family. It's an
excellent site. Thank you. Jacquie Wigg

Rose the next day before we are heading out to visit Wales.
Cheers, and I enjoy visiting your site. Sincerely, Ted

I am a Catholic from Hong Kong. I've been living in this
country for one and a half years, but never been to any mass in a
Catholic church, which is something I really want to do
especially after I'm back from Italy. I am living in Brockley at
this moment and would like to join the Sunday service. Please
tell me if i can do that. Hanna

FR EDWARD KELLY, CRL Just to inform members of the parish
community at Christchurch, that there will be a special Memorial
Mass for Fr Edward Kelly on Sunday 7th December 10.00am at St
Peter-in-Chains, Stroud Green. As Fr Edward exercised his
ministry in a variety of our CRL houses; Cornwall, Eltham and at
Stroud Green we wanted to have a special Mass to celebrate his
life and minstry. Both Fr Denis O'Gorman and myself travelled to
Ballinasloe to receive Fr Edward's Body into Moor church and
celebrate the Requiem Mass on the following day - 11th November.
Fr Edward is buried just beside the entrance to the church. I am
grateful to Fr Denis for the two weeks he spent in Ballinasloe
being at Fr Edward's bedside for many hours each day before he
died. We look forward to welcoming members of Christchurch parish
for the memorial Mass at St Peter-in-Chains. Fr Edward's sister,
nieces and nephews will be present for the celebration. Eternal
rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon
him. May he rest in peace.

Dear Father Paul Rea, I lived in Eltham in my youth and
gave away three of my sisters at Christ Church. I loved your
informative narrative of the inside of the church, but missed
seeing any pictures of the surrounding grounds. Maybe you could
add a few if there is a need to add to your narrative at a later
date. Bless you.

The new Altar carpet will be laid on Friday 26th. The
refurb completion party and celebration Mass will be on the
29th,(8:00 I think) This is also the comemeration of Fr.
Anthony's 50 years as a member of the CRL. Please do come if you
can. It's a sort of "bring a bottle and something to eat" and I
have invited our contractors to send a representative. They are a
great bunch of people. As Fr. Anthony has now "outed" us, kind
regards and hope to see you there, Nick Craddy, Paul Clark,
Jackie Day, Paul Cookson, and Rory O'Sullivan. We hope you
approve of all that we have done.

Welcome back to Christchurch. I hope you had a good
holiday, if you managed to get away.I hope you are pleased with
the work that has been done in church. Regular bulletins have
been posted throughout and so you will be familiar with the
details. The standard of the work has been high, carried out on
time and within budget. It has been supervised throughout by Nick
Craddy and Paul Clark who have given generously of their time to
be on hand to supervise, move things, prepare for Sunday and much
else. The parish owes them a debt of gratitude. Thank you too to
all those who turned out on Saturday mornings to get the church
ready for use. Thank you to the many generous donors who have
helped pay for the work. It has been a shared enterprise an
example of the parish working together. We still have the benches
to sort out, but that's another story.

Hello everyone, as our Parishoners will know, we are in the
process of refurbishing Christchurch. We have this week, painted
some sample colours in the church, for the forthcoming
re-decoration. Please take a moment to have a look, there are
stickers identifing the names of the schemes, and you you have
any comment, then please let me know. To both our parishoner and
non-parishoner visitors, if you would care to make a donation to
our refurbishment fund ( A fair amount is needed to be raised )
then please contact Miriam in the Parish Office, every little
helps! (Sorry Tesco...)
