This is the first church I have visited in London. Please
accept my appreciation of your visual presentation. The music
accompanying it was pleasing. I know you don't celebrate
Thanksgiving on the same day as we do. But, I am thankful that I
found your church. HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY

Hi I used to live in Eltham with my family pre 1979 when we
then moved up here to Lincolnshire. My mum and dad (Jim and Dolly
Proctor) were both very involved with Christ Church Parish at the
time (scouts, coffee mornings, fetes. This was in the days of
Father Smith etc. It was great to find your website and have a
look around again. Sadly my mum died two years ago, and my dad is
moving out to Thailand in January to be near to my older brother,
Mike. I still have very fond memories of Christ Church and the
folk masses, St Mary's and St Thomas Moore's schools. The parish
in Louth is very small and rural compared to Eltham. I'm now a
cathechist, which is quite demanding as there are no Catholic
schools here at all. I run my own business in marketing and have
decided that I'm going to set up a new national website
(www.romancatholicfaith.org.uk) with project sheets, games and
general information for Catholic children and a RC parish
directory. I was pleased to see that you have some good games and
quizzes on your site! Will visit your site again soon. Maria

Just visited this site as wanted to find out more about
your church as I may be moving nearer to your area soon. It comes
across as so welcoming and warm that I can't wait to move now -
not that I am saying that Sydenham isnt that as well!! I enjoyed
reading bout the Knights andyour social club too as my Father was
very active in these areas in Sydenham, now he has retired back
to Ireland. I hope that one day I will be attending your masses,
and that my son will be singing int he choir! Linda

Parish of St James & St John, Tiverton Dear friends,
Thank you for your farewell gift. Your generosity doesn't
surprise me, but I still can't get my head round the extent of
it! I'm sorry I shan't be coming back to thank you in person, but
I have been gone for well over a year now and we have all moved
on - in my case to this lively Devon parish, where I have been
made so welcome. I think of my brother |Christopher's funeral -
that wonderful celebration of memories, love and prayer - as
having bee a kind of joint farewll to both of us. The happiest
and most fulfilling years of my life wewre spent with him and
with you at Christ Church. I shan't ever forget what we all
shared, and for that, especially, |I thank you. Fr Paul.

I kinda stumbled into this website as I was looking for
information about St Mary's Primary's previous site in Eltham
High Street (when it was attached to the convent. Any info anyone
can give me would be appreciated (website addresses perhaps?) as
I'm trying to set up a previous pupils' association. Check out
Friends Reunited - a few of us leavers from 1979 are in touch
with each other and it would be nice to see more. And a message
for Peter Eastwood: I'm sure your singing was never that bad when
I was in the Priory Players - maybe that's why you were always
set-building!! Any ex-Priory Players who want to get in touch
with me would be very welcome too.... Brenda (was Bates, now

PRAYER: Merciful God, you made all of the people of the
world in your own image and have placed before us the pathway of
salvation through your saints and prophets. Look with compassion
on the whole human family; take away the arrogance and hatred
which infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us;
unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and
confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; that, in your
good time, all nations and races may serve you in justice, peace
and harmony around your heavenly throne. (Amen) PRAYER: Merciful
God, please give to peoples of the world the required wisdom and
determination, to learn to live in peace like brothers and
sisters, by ending the divisions and hatreds created by our past
and present elders. (Amen)

It is now over three months sice the untimely death of my
brother Christopher. He is still very much central in our
thoughts and the memories of the wonderful love and support shown
at his funeral will never be forgotton. To me Christopher was a
very special brother and the love and afection shown at his
funeral will forever remain with us as a family. In his memory at
Christchurch Priory I, my wife,Pat and daughter Rebecca would
very much like to "contribute" something in his memory and in
particular to the Youth Group. Could some body please make a
suggestion for the possible purchase of equipment or an anual
donation towards a specific project etc. Any sugestions would be
most welcome even if it is only for an annual celebration of the
Eucharist in his memory. Thankyou all once again for all the love
an support afforded to us all at his funeral and the ongoing
support that youhave all given to Paul. Many thanks John Rea. PS

I grew up in Bodmin so have very fond memories of the CRL.
It is so sad that lack of vocations meant the order had to leave
Bodmin. I remember Father Christopher from when I attended
Bodmin's catholic primary school and was saddened to learn of his
death when I attended mass on Easter Sunday back in Bodmin. I
don't think it is any accident that people who were in my school
class back then are still attending mass now, when so many people
fall away as they get older. The inspiration of enthusiastic
ambassadors for the faith such as Father Christopher was very
important. Maybe when I am in the area sometime I'll get the
opportunity to visit Eltham. Wishing parishioners and the Canons
all the best. Dan
