The
Music Group
The Music Group was formed in 1995 to provide the music for the 9.30am Family Mass and also for the Celebration Masses of the 1st Communion programme. Recently, some of the older singers have formed a Chamber Choir which sings at 11.30am Mass. At the moment, we number over 50 singers, aged from 6 to 16 and a small group of instrumentalists which we are hoping to expand. The children are given training in singing and basic music technique and in recent years have won 1st place in the Bromley, Beckenham and Bexley Festivals.
Twice a year, the group put on a musical: at Christmas, something based on the nativity, and in the summer a fun show, often a well-known musical.
Practice: Tuesday from 6.15 to 7.15pm

This 4-part choir sings for the 11.30am Sunday Mass and on other special occasions. We sing a wide range of music from across the centuries and specialise in polyphony from the 16th and 17th century. We stage concerts 2 or 3 times a year and in 1999, we made our first recording of our favourite music. As well as singing, the choir has an active social life and enjoys its coffee break almost as much as its rehearsal! |

The Good Friday Singers come together once a year to perform a concert of sacred music for Good Friday evening. Singers come from different parishes and groups all over the Eltham area and it is a chance for new singers to have a go as well as for experienced singers who want another chance to sing their favourite works. Everybody who gives their time for the concert does so free of charge so that any profits made can go to charity. | |
