Pastoral Letter from Archbishop Jon Wilson - 17th October 2021

Our Approach in Post Pandemic

Although it has been a while since the many restrictions have been lifted, we are still encouraging everyone to wear a face covering in the Church.

Please find below the key points that every visitor to the Church should be mindful of.

(The full text can be accessed through the link at the end of this article.)

1. Capacity of Church: Church is open to its original capacity, however please be sensible and respect those whom would like to maintain a space for distancing from others.

2. Face covering:  Please continue wearing a face covering when attending Mass.

3. Social Distancing: Please continue observing 1m-plus social distance especially when queueing to receive communion and exiting from the church at the end of Mass.

4. Track & Trace: Please continue signing in when attending Mass.  The NHS app associated QR code also remains available at the entrance of the church.

5. Sanitising: We will continue providing hand-sanitiser at the entrance and the exit of the church.   If you would like to sanitise / clean the pew / kneeler before you are seated, please bring your own anti-bacterial wipes.

5. One-way system: Please continue following the existing signs to keep the one-way system going.  The entrance to the church will remain the side door on the Priory side and the exit will remain to be through the Hall foyer.

6. Holy Water: The Holy Water stoups will not be refilled until the infection levels come down further.  Should you wish to receive holy water, please contact the Parish Office.

7. Physical Sign of Peace: Physical Sign of Peace will not resume this time.  It will continue to be a gesture without touching.

8. Communion:  Please continue keeping your face covering on until you come up to receive communion.  Please continue receiving communion in your hands (as opposed to by mouth).

Finally,  if you have any COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms, please do not come into the church.  You can still attend Mass via Live Streaming by clicking "Live Streaming" from the top menu bar on this website.
