Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
In cases where the necessity arises, members of “Christ’s faithful,” that is, lay Catholic men and women, can be appointed as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion in order to help the priest in the distribution of Holy Communion.
Because of the numbers attending Mass in our parish, we have a team of such Ministers who assist the priests in distributing Holy Communion. Some Ministers also take Communion to the sick at home or to those in hospital.
The group of Extraordinary Ministers meets four times a year for prayer and reflection before the Blessed Sacrament.
